Who we are
A Team of Social Researchers, Rooted in Southern Africa
Zonge Research International (formerly Zonge Consulting) is a research and consulting firm and social enterprise owned by ZongeTech Investments (PTY) Ltd, registered in South Africa. We are a team of social research experts providing research services to the non-profit sector across Southern Africa.
Our goal is to help achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Southern Africa. We do this by producing rigorous, evidence-based research that helps our partners design better programmes, influence policy, and improve lives.
We also build the research capacity of non-profit organisations โ offering training and producing research materials that are available online for free. We treat the organisations we work with as partners, not clients. And that is how they treat us.
Our research team is spread across five countries: South Africa, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Mozambique.
Countries covered (South Africa, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique).
Research projects completed across the region.
Why work with us
Evidence that Changes Lives
Rooted in Southern Africa
Our researchers live and work in the countries where our partners operate. We understand the context from the ground up, not from a distance.
Multi-disciplinary expertise
Our team spans sociology, economics, law, public health, disability studies, and data science. We bring the right mix of skills to every project.
Academically rigorous
Several of our researchers hold PhDs and have published in peer-reviewed journals. Our work meets the standards expected by international funders.
We build your capacity
Every project is an opportunity to strengthen your internal research and M&E capacity. We do not just deliver reports โ we transfer skills.
We share knowledge freely
Our toolkits and training materials are publicly available at no cost. We believe knowledge belongs to everyone.
Deep experience with vulnerable groups
Whether it is persons with disabilities, migrant workers, women in informal employment, or workers in high-risk sectors โ we have extensive experience researching with and for marginalised groups.
